2023-24 HKSAR Government-subsidized Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme for Eligible People, available at Human Health
2023.1.30

2023-24 Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme, subsidized by HKSAR government, has launched on 1st January 2023. Eligible persons can enjoy free testing and the criteria are as follows:

  1. Hong Kong residents who have HKID card# or Certificate of Exemption born between the years 1947 and 1973,
  2. People who have no colorectal cancer symptoms or high-risk factors (such as family history), and who have not undergone colorectal cancer screening or examination within the specified period.

For additional eligibility information, please refer to https://www.colonscreen.gov.hk/en/public/programme/who_may_enrol.html.

Eligible persons can receive free Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) screening under the Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme. If there is a positive FIT test result and any polyp removal is needed, our Colonoscopy Specialists may charge a co-payment for not exceeding HKD$1,000. Relevant screening can identify colorectal cancer patients or high-risk individuals at an earlier stage, so they can receive early treatment and thus have a more favorable prognosis.

Currently, Human Health has plenty of general practitioners and specialists enrolled in the 2023-24 Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme, providing Colorectal Cancer Screening and hence Polypectomy services to all eligible individuals. All Human Health Medical Centers are welcoming on-the-spot registration of the programme. Please try to use the “Find Us and Booking” function on Human Health official website’s upper right corner to search and call the medical center near you.

#Except those who obtained their Hong Kong Identity Card by virtue of previous permission to land or remain in Hong Kong granted to them and such permission has expired or ceased to be valid.
